Hello.... need help |
Lead | |
|
Hi everyone. I don't know if I'm in the right place... since this isn't about a haunted place as much as a haunted person. My sister (she gave me
permission to do this, but can't do it herself) seems to have some sort of attachment, that I believe has been in place since she was very young. Mental
illness has been ruled out by more than one therapist. Her "symptoms" rage from nightmares and bad feelings to touches and outright physical attacks.
She is clairvoyant, and has used every tool within her own power to protect herself. This entity has been felt by a respected shaman, as well as other
spiritualists she knows. Anything she has ever tried to rid herself of this attachment has worked only short term. Now her 9 year old daughter is beginning to
experience things, and my sister is pregnant as well. She is at her wits' end. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much.

mikicake-
I was just passing by and realize this team has not done any investigations in over a few years. Going threw and reading the message board they seem more like enthusiasts than professionals. I would honestly look for someone else in the field to help you out. To this team... If you claim to be professional, then you should know everything about it, these are peoples lives your dealing with and it is a serious matter this post has been sitting here for a few days now, the lead investigator wrote back and then deleted his own post ...Why??. Dont claim to be something your not, let the real professionals handle it. |

Additionally, I might suggest (ahem) that a "professional" would more likely want to consider and do some research before just typing the first response that came into their head... and for the record, we only post details of investigations when the client has given us permission. Many people are highly sensitive about any possiblity that information about their potentially paranormal experience might get out to the public. A true professional respects their client's privacy over "marketing". As for the original question, it is quite true that there have been cases reported of people who have experiences that seem to indicate an "entity" is somehow attached to them personally, rather than to a place or location. If one believes the theory that most entities were once human incarnate, it makes sense that their spirit might be attracted to a person rather than to a place - maybe they get lonely too? The flip side of this type of experience is sometimes referred to as a "guardian angel". Depends on the perspective and the experience that occurs - no? Mikicake, would you be able to provide some more details? What has your sister experienced that leads her to believe that "something" is attached to her? Does it feel threatening or merely creepy? Has she seen, heard or smelled anything? What does she experience when she thinks the entity is near her? Are there times when she feels it is NOT with her? Is there any kind of pattern to it? As for her daughter's experience, does your sister talk about her concerns in front of her daughter? There is some evidence that children may be more "sensitive" to the paranormal, before their adult minds and expectations get in the way. Unfortunately, children are also highly susceptible to suggestion, as well, there may be some latent telekinetic ability in either your sister and/or her daughter which may be manifesting. Personally, after reading and reviewing a ton of poltergeist accounts over the years, I am more persuaded that most poltergeist activity is better explained by telekinetic/esp than by the actions of an actual entity. Of course there is no way to be 100% able to rule anything in or out. But our team is happy to offer what ideas/help that we can... (flamers not withstanding...

Wow. I am really sorry about that. Has any of the people that she has seen regarding this phenomenon found out what the entity wants. It seems that one of them
should have been able to help. What does the entity look like? What are the nightmares about? what kind of physical attacks? Why does she think that this is
happening to her? "when she was very young"- how young are we talking? Can you give me your sister's first name and age? one more question. Why
can't your sister do this herself? --Suade

If I may interject here with all due respect and hopefully not to be banned for speaking ones mind.
You do have a point Angrad about keeping it private, but this individual needing help just wanted some answers, this is a message board you know. If you are serious as you all state all over your website, you would of gotten back to this individual in a decent amount of time. Apparently the lead investigator did write back and then deleted his post...so he was aware of it and never responded to the individuals question. As for the explaination of the spirit attachment...If all you can come up with is "Guardian Angels" then I would seriously reconsider doing paranormal work and helping people out... You have alot to learn my dear. And where did you come up with poltergeist activity coming into play with a spirit attachment? Perhaps you need to google the word spirit attachment and start reading. But then again your the professionals as you want to say. I just feel sorry for the individuals who cross your path and need help. |

Just as a little follow-up post....
Mikiecake also E-mailed our team directly, at the same time that the original message was posted. The Vice President of Carolina Paranormal Research and I have been in touch with Mickiecake through E-mail, and have offered numerous suggestions which will hopefully be of assistance. (It seemed much better to discuss this issue privately through E-mails, rather than posting recommedations on a public forum) We also received a very appreciative E-mail reply from Mikiecake two days ago, who was very grateful... and thanked us for our help.

Dear Paraguru -
Thanks for your comments - less than "respectful" but you got your say. I wonder if you are persona of Mr. Mallard? What may I ask are your qualifications "my dear'? Anyone can show up in a forum and claim to be a "guru" - it don't make it so. And, last I checked this wasn't an exact "science" - so disagreements and discussions are far more the norm. Most paranormal enthusiasts are able to discuss things politely, how fortunate for our pleasant little community, to be invaded by 2 such experts as yourself and Mr. Mallard. I'm glad you apparently consider yourself such a paragon - you obviously don't need any help for which I am glad for you AND for anyone who has to cross YOUR path. ' |

Gary - do you see the ads that are now popping up? It looks like our "visitor's" real purpose was to plant adware! Can we just delete the
affected posts and his so that the adware doesn't track back to our forum? We don't allow that kind of garbage to clutter up our screens usually....

It's not spyware, Chris .... it's just that our Yuku Gold Membership has expired, and we're now showing side ads on the forum. If you
"log in" I don't think that they'll be showing in the posts.

I had no idea all of t his drama was going on! I had the board set up for email notification, but it didn't send me one until this morning. Thank you to
Mr. Mallard for your concern, but the mod is correct, I did talk to the group via email, and it was suggested that this type problem was not what they usually
investigate. I was advised to seek help from another source, which I did. I emailed John Zaffis (many of you know of him, I'm sure), who emailed me back
within an hour. After speaking to him, although he was interested in the case, he didn'[t have room on his schedule, and contacted Adam Blai on my behalf.
As for the history of this situation.. let me start by saying my sister is terrified to pursue investigation herself. Every time she has done so, the activity has escalated. Since she is pregnant, she asked me to make contact and talk to investigators until she has her baby, for safety reasons. She has felt energies and seen "strange things" as long as she can remember. She doesn't remember being frightened by these experiences until my family moved into a particular house in GA (before I was born). I suppose she would have been about 6, maybe 7. At that point she started having nightmares, which my mother assumed were caused by scary movies, or whatever. She told me the nightmare always revolved around the same "monster", which she will only describe as "hideous". The family only stayed in the house for a couple of months, but my mother says she doesn't remember why, only that it was frustrating when they had to move again so quickly (that interests me - she can remember not wanting to move again, but not much else that happened when she lived there, or why they had to move). After the move, my sister said the nightmares continued, but were infrequent until she was 11 or 12. She remembers (over a many year time span) being woken up by whispers in her ear, being half asleep and wanting to move, but being unable to, feeling like someone was watching her, doors slamming when no one else was home, being scared for no apparent reason (which made my mother crazy - I remember that). These are things that happened repeatedly, from the age of 11 or 12, until she was in her early 20s. When she was in college, she developed an interest in spirituality. By that I don't mean Christianity, but in an exploration of other religions, reincarnation, the paranormal, etc.. She believes the activity worsened as she became more self aware and started exploring her own abilities. One incident she vividly remembers took place in a house she was renting with a friend. Her friend needed a roommate, so my sister agreed to move in. She says she regretted that decision the second she set foot in the house. She felt an energy, an angry one. Not evil, so to speak, but very "frustrated." She believes that particular energy, or entity, was attached to the house, and didn't want them there, but had no desire to hurt anyone until she moved in. The roommate later told her that there had been small incidents, such as lights flickering and thumps before my sister moved in, that she attributed to the house being old. The activity escalated immediately after my sister arrived. Cabinet doors would be open when they came home, that cat (my sister's) wouldn't go into the bedrooms, cold spots, thumps, "scared" feelings. She thought there was a "hot spot" in her closet. One night she was laying on her bed, trying to go to sleep, when she started feeling anxious. She was laying on her back, and something physically grabbed her jaw and turned her head toward the closet door, which she ALWAYS left closed. The door was open, and there was a man standing in the closet. He was angrily "yelling", but she couldn't hear what he was saying. She said this lasted a few seconds, then he faded away. After that, she slept on the couch. Her roommate started sleeping in the living room about a week later, complaining that it felt like someone was "poking" her and talking when she slept. They slept in the living room until the lease was up months later, then moved out. I'm not going to get into all of the things she has told me, because I would be writing all day =). I would like to relate one more encounter, in answer to the question about my niece. When my niece was about 3 or 4, my sister moved into an old house in Murrell's Inlet. My sister felt there was an energy there before she moved in, but that it was benign. By that time she wasn't scared of "entities" that seemed harmless. She never talked to her daughter about these things, she felt my niece was way too young to even comprehend it. She was careful to discuss paranormal things only when my niece was not closeby, because she didn't want to scare her. My sister said she thought the entity was an old man, and that was his house. She never felt scared of him, but I hated that house. Even though she only lived 5 minutes from me, I rarely went there because it made me uncomfortable. One day, my sister was in the living room when my niece walked in (remember, she was about 4). My niece told her that the nice man in the kitchen had asked if she could take the trash out, it was bothering him. (my sister is not the world's best housekeeper). After that she always kept the kitchen tidy =). She says she could often hear my niece talking in her room, but she says it could have been to an imaginary friend, because my niece would always just say she was talking to her "friend." They had lived there about a year when thigs started changing. Keep in mind that nightmares, scared feelings, pokes, etc. had been a consitent part of her life since she was very young. These things never went away no matter where she lived, but always seems to escalate when she lived near what she calls a "hot spot." We were very close when she was living in Murrell's Inlet, and I remenber her calling me at night many times because she was scared for no reason, and just want to hear another voice. The talked about doors slamming, nightmares almost every night, and now there was mold growing in her bedroom. She thought her room smelled "funny," and once on my rare visits I did see the mold all over her bedroom, but didn't smell anything strange. Her landlord was unable to find the source of the mold. He replaced the drywall, and checked for leaks. A few days later the mold was on the new drywall. She started to get depressed. She wasn't sleeping well, she was losing weight, she never looked and acted like my sister. She didn't want to leave the house, I felt like it was almost an obsession with her. Finally I talked her into getting an apartment, and after she moved the change was immediate. The depression went away, she gained weight, and started acting like her old self. Things were okay for a couple of years, then the activity got out of control. She won't talk about what happened that made her seek help. She steadfastly refuses. I do know she was terrified. She started lookihg for help, and somehow got in touch with a shaman. The shaman told her she had a non-human entity attached to her, that had been there for many years getting stronger. She was going to try to help get rid of it, but she didn't know if it would be successful. She arranged the help of a "headhunter", whatever that is. Even my sister didn't know what that meant, and the shaman was very vague. They did the ritual, and the shaman told her that they couldn't get rid of the attachment, but they did weaken it dramatically. The shaman didn't know what else to do, and basically walked away at that point. My sister thinks she was scared. After the ritual, things DID get better. The activity never stopped, but it was tolerable. Until she got married. As soon as she met her current husband, she says things got worse. She would visit me, and would have a bruise here and a bruise there. When I asked her where she got them, she could never "remember." Soon I started thinking her boyfriend was hurting her. I was livid, and confronted her. It was then she told me that something bad was happening again, and she was too afraid to talk about it. She said they were "physical attacks by a negative energy", and that's all she would tell me. She repeatedly cleansed her house, and had her friends help her. The physical attacks seemed to stop, but she was still having vivid nightmares, and was still seeing things. After she got married and bought a house last year, she felt she had things pretty well under control. She felt like she knew how to protect herself, and had just accepted the fact that this was her life. When she got pregnant, things started escalating once again. This time it was affecting everyone in the house. Her husband fell down the stairs, and said it felt like someone pushed him. She would vaccuum, and it wouldn't turn off when she flipped the switch. Even after she unplugged it, it would still run for about 30 seconds. Her husband witnessed this twice. One night they were awoken by the house alarm going off. The thigs would not stop no matter what they did. Her husband even ripped it off the wall, and it was STILL blaring. It finally stopped when he went and flipped the breaker for their bedroom. Every time they tried to turn the breaker back on it would start blaring again. They lived with no power in thier bedroom for 3 days until the company was able to come out and replace the unit and the wiring. My niece started having "night terrors." She is 9 years old now. She wakes up screaming, and when my sister get there, my niece is staring into the corner crying, and doesn't seem to realize her Mom is there. My sister will just pick her up and take her in the living room, at which point my niece will go back to sleep. She never remembers these incidents. She also has had several light bulbs shatter in their sockets. All of this activity reached a peak in late 2008 when the moon and 2 planets aligned in a triangle in the sky. Do you guys remember that?? The alarm thing happened the week the pictures were on the news. I don't know if that's significant. She says things have calmed some since December. My niece has stopped having night terrors, no one has been hurt, the vaccuum returned to normal. She says light bulbs still blow, but don't shatter. She has had the compact flourescent bulbs last only a few weeks before having to be replaced. She is still hearing things whisper in her ear, still being "poked", and still getting scared for no reason. No mold, which is good since mold started inexplicably growing in the last 3 places she lived, always after she moved in. I guess that's about it. =) |
